Securing and Deleting your Data
In order to feel confident that your data is protected on old computers or hard drives being donated, please delete your data and make sure to remove any sim cards, contacts, or pictures from cell phones.
For residents concerned about the privacy of their data, Power On – Lansing’s computer repair and tech support center – has prepared a tutorial for completely wiping a hard drive. Donors are expected to complete this step before dropping off items.

Volunteers
We are also seeking volunteers to help with this event between the hours of 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM. We need volunteers for the collection and sorting. We also needed seasoned IT professional to help go through the donations so that we can salvage and donate usable items to local charities. The rest will be properly recycled. If you are available please sign up to volunteer!
Additional collection for donated cell phones at Grand River Connection
We are partnering with the Grand River Connection to setup a donation area for cell phones and promote our event at their January event on Tuesday, January 23. For more information, visit the Grand River Connection website.
